Top Motorbike Maintenance Tips And Tricks

Riding a bike is a thrilling experience and many people enjoy it, however it is important that you ensure your bike is always in the best condition and is working as it should before taking it out for a spin.

Motorbikes are extremely fast, extremely stylish and can really get your adrenaline pumping. While most riders won’t go to the extremes some are thrill seekers who want to push their bikes to the limits.

Regular maintenance and upkeep is essential if you want to ensure your bike is safe to ride at all times and doing these checks before and after every trip can help to minimise the risk of any issues arising.

Cleaning your bike is perhaps one of the most important steps in bike care. Not only does it help to ensure your bike is always looking fantastic, but it prevents dirt and grime building up and potentially damaging parts of the bike such as the engine.

While you don’t need to clean your bike after every trip, you should still ensure it is cleaned frequently to prevent build up and keep it sparkling and sleek.

Tires are also incredibly important. Ensuring tire pressure is correct and your tread hasn’t worn down is vital in ensuring your safety. This is especially important when travelling at high speeds, as tires are more likely to encounter problems when riding fast.

Regular maintenance such as oil changes, brake checks and checking the levels of water, coolant and other simple tasks should be done as often as any other vehicle, perhaps more often if you are a frequent rider.

You should always ensure your bike is booked in for servicing regularly. While some vehicles may be able to skip their yearly service and be fine, bikes should be serviced at least once a year to ensure they are in the best condition and are safe to drive.
